Astro Almanac Weekly Forecast For April 5-11

You may have noticed that the “Today's Forecast” section has disappeared, and here's why:

As you know, I moved to a new site earlier this year. Around the same time, I took a course in Internet marketing. Through here, I learned a few things about web analytics. What I've learned over the past couple of months by studying my own analytics is this: It appears that I'm posting a little too often.

Therefore, I'm switching back to weekly forecasts, though the daily aspects will remain on the home page.

Okay, then. Let's get started on this forecast! We start out with a New Moon in Aries on April 5th.

As you can see, this New Moon isn't too heavy on aspects, other than a loose square to Saturn. A few degrees past Saturn is Pluto, and although Pluto's square is in an 8 degree orb from being exact, it's conjunction with Saturn is drawn into the New Moon energy.

I just wrote an article about Saturn and Pluto, which you can read here. It includes some of the more mundane manifestations of this week's energies as well. I'll also link to it at the end of the article if you'd like to read on first.

As for our personal lives, if you've been waiting for this New Moon to initiate projects after this Mercury retrograde cycle, note that the square to Saturn and Pluto means that we'll have to move forward slowly and carefully. We're talking about the extra-long game here, so if that's what you're going for, this is your week. Especially on the 10th, when the Sun makes his exact square to Saturn.

Meanwhile, Mercury and Neptune are still conjunct, but only by about a degree at the time of the New Moon. Its effects will wear off noticeably over the forecast period. However, Mercury will be making more aspects this week. First is a sextile with Saturn on the 7th, making this a good time to take care of the more boring, but required forms of communication. Have you done your taxes yet? Mercury – Saturn in a sextile will help those of us affected by giving us the mental fortitude to get through even the most daunting of tasks...though Neptune's proximity may still add a very small bit of confusion and escapism. The solution to this is to take small, measured breaks when needed.

Mercury then approaches a sextile with Pluto, exact on the 10th, but as the Taurus Moon joins in the fun on the 8th, we'll be feeling this aspect rather early. Helpful Mercury – Pluto aspects are great for making up with someone. This is because this particular planetary interaction brings out our healing words. If there's someone who you need to sit down and have a talk with, the 8th through the 11th are as good of a time as any (except maybe for the trine, but we'll have to wait until the third week of May for that, and it will pass far more quickly).

Also happening on the 10th is a lovely, escapist conjunction of Venus and Neptune. Now we're talking! This is an aspect for creating or enjoying the visual arts, living out a fantasy, and other general indulgences. We may need to be careful of where we spend our money and who we spend it on, as we're seeing the world through a possibly unrealistically pretty lens at this time, which opens us up for deception. Be careful of get rich quick schemes this week.

Finally, we have one more main event on this day – Jupiter's retrograde station, at 24 degrees Sagittarius. Now comes the four months out of every year when the energies of the planet of luck, expansion, and world view gets a long, protracted review. For the third or so of us who were born during Jupiter retrograde, we're more likely to feel more at home with these subjects now. The rest of us will need a brief adjustment period. The best thing to do this week is to watch for overconfidence, especially in money matters (See: conjunction, Venus – Neptune). Try not to jump into anything this week, in fact (See: square, Sun – Saturn).

Those are the last exact aspects for the week, but as we approach the First Quarter Moon on the 12th, we'll start feeling the energies of a Venus – Saturn sextile (seriously, get those taxes done, the Universe is assisting here!) as well as a square between Mercury and Jupiter, for a whole lot more social media bickering.

Given the Mercury – Saturn – Pluto events of the beginning of the week, followed by a time of heavy arguing between those of different world views, I smell a controversy or major news event around this time, hopefully leading to a conversation that in turns leads to positive change in the longer run.

Being hopeful would be revolutionary given the current astrological themes. Mercury is still in Pisces, so we have some assistance there.

I'll be back in a week with the next Astro Almanac Weekly Forecast, including more about the Venus – Saturn sextile as well as the Mercury – Jupiter square. Until then, have a fantastic week full of love and light.
